Openline uses eSIM technology — a small chip already built into your phone that can hold multiple mobile line profiles. When you buy an Openline plan, you receive a purchase code (like OL-4F7X-9K2Q-A3M8). You redeem the code — in the Openline app, on your web account, or anonymously at openline.com/start — and the redemption downloads an eSIM profile onto your device. You get a second line called Openline next to your regular line.

While you travel:

  • Your regular line stays for texts and 2FA codes at home-rate.
  • The Openline line handles all your mobile data at the destination.
  • Openline auto-connects to the strongest partner carrier in every country — you don't pick networks manually.

The eSIM profile is inactive until it attaches to a supported network at your destination, so you can install it days or weeks before your trip without burning any of your plan's days or data.

Still stuck?

Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:

When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
