Openline works across Ghana on the local Tier-1 partner networks we have signed. Coverage focuses on the capital and major urban centres; smaller towns are LTE/4G through a single partner.

What to expect

  • Speed: 4G/LTE in most urban areas; 5G where the country's carriers have rolled it out (typically in the capital and a handful of secondary cities).
  • Coverage: dense in cities, thinner in rural areas — Openline routes to whichever Tier-1 has signal.
  • Latency: low enough for messaging and video calls in urban zones; may spike in remote regions.

Choosing a plan

  • Short stay (1–7 days): country plan, 1–3 GB / 7 days.
  • Standard visit (1–2 weeks): country plan, 5–10 GB / 15 days.
  • Extended stay / remote work: Unlimited / 30 days, or the appropriate regional plan if you're combining with neighbours.

Local tips

  • Install before flying and toggle airplane mode on landing to force a fresh scan.
  • Data Roaming must be on on the Openline line at all times — travel eSIMs technically roam, but Openline is never billed as roaming to you.
  • Hotel Wi-Fi in Ghana varies wildly in quality; keep Openline as your fallback.

Still stuck?

Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:

When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
