The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 has a built-in WWAN modem with eSIM support. Openline installs directly through Windows 11's cellular settings.

Install steps

  1. Connect the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open Settings → Network & Internet → Cellular → Manage eSIM profiles.
  3. Click Add profile → Let me add a profile manually.
  4. Paste the SM-DP+ address and Activation Code from your Openline confirmation email.
  5. Save and turn the profile on.

Notes for Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12

  • Enterprise customers can push Openline profiles silently via Microsoft Intune (see the MDM articles in this KB).
  • The eSIM survives Windows updates but not full "Reset this PC" flows — reinstall from openline.com afterwards.
  • If cellular doesn't come up after install, restart the modem: Settings → Network → Cellular → toggle Cellular off/on.

Still stuck?

Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:

When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
