Openline works fully on Android 16, the newest release, focused on privacy and modem power efficiency. The core install flow (Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM) is the same across every OEM that supports the Android reference implementation.
What's specific about Android 16
- Per-line Data Roaming and Mobile Data switches are exposed clearly and stay stable through reboots.
- eSIM profiles survive OS updates cleanly on Android 16; you should not need to reinstall after upgrading.
- The APN is auto-configured from the eSIM profile — you almost never need to touch it manually.
Known edge cases
- Some phones on Android 16 show the Openline line as "SIM 2" instead of "Openline" in the status bar. That's cosmetic; the connection is the same.
- On very early Android 16 builds shipped in 2024, dual-eSIM slots were limited to one active at a time. If you're on that build, update the phone; every OEM has since patched this.
