Openline eSIMs require an unlocked phone. Check first:
On iPhone
Settings → General → About → scroll to Carrier Lock.
- "No SIM restrictions" = you're unlocked, Openline will work.
- Anything else = you're locked to a specific carrier and Openline won't install until you unlock.
How to unlock
Contact your current carrier and request a network unlock. This is free in most countries and typically takes 1–3 business days. In the US, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon all offer it for phones that have completed their contract or are fully paid off.
After unlock
Restart the phone. The Carrier Lock field should update to "No SIM restrictions" within a few minutes.

When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
