Yes, by default. When you erase an iPhone, iOS asks whether to also erase the eSIM profiles installed on it. If you choose "Erase", the Openline profile is gone from that device.
To recover
Sign in at openline.com → My eSIMs → Reinstall eSIM. We generate a fresh QR you can scan on the same (now-reset) iPhone or a different one. Data and days remaining stay attached to your account, not the profile.
Pro tip: if you're erasing before selling or trading in, always erase the eSIMs *before* handing off the device to make sure your travel plan isn't accessible to the next owner.
Still stuck?
Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:
- Live chat — inside the Openline app or at openline.com
- Email — ask@openline.com
- WhatsApp — wa.me/15554842461
- Messenger — m.me/askopenline
- Contact form — openline.com/contact
- Social DMs — @askopenline on X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok
When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
