You can redeem the code through any of three channels:

  • In the Openline app — tap Redeem code, paste or scan the code, then install the eSIM.
  • On your web account — sign in at openline.com, open My Codes, and hit Install next to the code.
  • Anonymously at openline.com/start — paste the code, no account required. This is how gift recipients redeem.

The redemption creates an eSIM profile that installs on the device you're using in that moment. Your account records "code X was redeemed on device Y at time Z" so you can trace the history later.

What happens under the hood

  1. Openline validates the code against our purchase database.
  2. We ask our GSMA-accredited RSP partner to allocate an eSIM profile matching the plan attached to the code.
  3. Your device downloads the profile using either a one-tap install link (iOS 17.4+/Android 13+) or a scannable QR.
  4. The code is marked as consumed. Attempting to redeem again returns "already redeemed — see reinstall".

What if it fails mid-redemption

If the profile download fails after the code has already been consumed, the code still resolves to the active plan — you just need to reinstall from My Codes → Reinstall, no re-purchase required.

Purchase code vs activation code

Don't confuse the two:

  • Purchase code (OL-4F7X-9K2Q-A3M8) — what Openline gave you when you paid. Giftable, bearer, reusable via Reinstall.
  • Activation code (LPA:1$rsp.openline.com$K2-...) — what redemption generates and what your phone actually installs. Single-install by GSMA spec.

See purchase code vs activation code for the full breakdown.

Want to gift the code?

Any unredeemed purchase code can be gifted at any time — including one you bought for yourself and never used. See Everything about gifting your Openline purchase code for every method: copy from the app, share the link, print a QR, "unlock" from your account, and more.

Still stuck?

Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:

When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
