Every Openline purchase produces a purchase code — a short alphanumeric token that looks like OL-4F7X-9K2Q-A3M8. The code is what you actually own after paying; the eSIM profile itself is created only when you redeem the code.

Anatomy of a code

  • Format: OL- followed by three groups of 4 alphanumeric characters (e.g. OL-4F7X-9K2Q-A3M8).
  • Case-insensitive at redemption; we normalize to uppercase server-side.
  • Single-use: after successful redemption, the code becomes a reference to an active plan rather than a redeemable token.
  • Not tied to a specific device, country, or account — the plan behind the code determines all of that.

Where you'll see it

  • In the purchase-code email
  • In the Openline app under My Codes
  • On openline.com under My Codes
  • In your purchase code PDF receipt

You can redeem the code through any of three channels:

  • In the Openline app — tap Redeem code, paste or scan the code, then install the eSIM.
  • On your web account — sign in at openline.com, open My Codes, and hit Install next to the code.
  • Anonymously at openline.com/start — paste the code, no account required. This is how gift recipients redeem.

Purchase code vs activation code

Don't confuse the two:

  • Purchase code (OL-4F7X-9K2Q-A3M8) — what Openline gave you when you paid. Giftable, bearer, reusable via Reinstall.
  • Activation code (LPA:1$rsp.openline.com$K2-...) — what redemption generates and what your phone actually installs. Single-install by GSMA spec.

See purchase code vs activation code for the full breakdown.

Want to gift the code?

Any unredeemed purchase code can be gifted at any time — including one you bought for yourself and never used. See Everything about gifting your Openline purchase code for every method: copy from the app, share the link, print a QR, "unlock" from your account, and more.

Still stuck?

Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:

When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
