LPA stands for *Local Profile Assistant*. It's the software on your phone that manages eSIM profiles — downloading, enabling, disabling, and deleting them. Every eSIM-capable device ships with an LPA; iOS calls it "Cellular Setup", Android surfaces it under SIMs.
Why LPA matters for you
- When you scan an Openline QR, your phone's LPA reaches out to our SM-DP+ server and pulls the profile over TLS.
- If the LPA has a bug (occasionally happens with beta OS builds), install can fail even when your Wi-Fi and QR are both fine.
- Updating your OS keeps the LPA on the latest version — one reason we recommend running the latest patch before travelling.

Reach Openline support 24/7 through any of these channels:
- Live chat — inside the Openline app or at openline.com
- Email — ask@openline.com
- WhatsApp — wa.me/15554842461
- Messenger — m.me/askopenline
- Contact form — openline.com/contact
- Social DMs — @askopenline on X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok
When you write in, include your purchase code (the OL-… code we emailed you) and, if the eSIM is already installed, its ICCID (Settings → Cellular → tap the Openline line). That's enough for us to find your plan and diagnose without back-and-forth.
